Enlarged Prostate (BPH)
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, or BPH, is a condition in which the prostate enlarges as men get older. BPH is a very common condition that affects over 40 million Americans and over 500 million aging men worldwide. While BPH is a benign condition and unrelated to prostate cancer, it can greatly affect a man’s quality of life. DHR Health Urology Institute offers treatment with the UroLift® System for a minimally invasive approach that provides rapid relief and recovery of BPH symptoms. Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to obtain an erection that is sufficient for satisfactory intercourse. It is a common problem that affects as many as 30 million men in the United States. There are a number of medical conditions that can cause ED, but the most common causes are diabetes and high blood pressure. ED may cause low self-esteem, depression, and distress for a man and his partner. If ED is affecting a man’s well-being, it should be treated.
At DHR Health Urology Institute, we specialize in non-surgical and surgical treatment for erectile dysfunction. Our physicians have a strong commitment to treating patients with compassion, respect and empathy. Our surgeons aim to return patients to the most intimate and private activities that can truly improve the quality of life.
Fecal Incontinence
Fecal incontinence is the accidental loss or inability to control of feces (stool). Symptoms can include strong and sudden urgency to have a bowel movement, or not being aware of needing to have a bowel movement leading to the involuntary loss of feces.
Low Testosterone
Low testosterone (hypogonadism) can be caused by a medical condition, stress, problems with the pituitary gland or testicles, or as the result of congenital issues, infections, or treatment such as radiation and chemotherapy. Low testosterone can lead to changes in sex drive, fatigue, loss of muscle mass, irritability, poor sleep, or infertility. We provide an extensive evaluation to determine the source of symptoms and develop a treatment plan.
Male Infertility
Infertility is a common, yet complex, problem that affects many couples trying to have a baby. The inability to conceive may be caused by low or poor quality sperm production, blockages in the urinary tract, and range of conditions, illnesses, injuries, and lifestyle factors. Diagnosing male infertility can be done through an evaluation that includes detailed medical history, physical examination, and semen analysis; further tests may be conducted if needed. We offer a range of treatments for fertility issues.
Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery
Robotic surgery can be used to perform minimally invasive procedures on the urinary tract, including the kidney, bladder and ureters. This type of procedure provides surgeons with better visualization, accuracy, and flexibility during surgery. When patients undergo robotic surgery, they tend to experience less pain and faster recovery times.
Mixed Incontinence
Mixed Incontinence is the combination of symptoms from urge incontinence and stress urinary incontinence. Severity of symptoms may vary from person to person, and oftentimes one set of symptoms will be more bothersome than the other.
Overactive Bladder (OAB)
In Overactive Bladder (OAB) the primary symptom manifests as strong and sudden urge to urinate. Some patients may experience accidental leakage of urine when they experience these urges. Other patients may also experience urinary frequency, needing to urinate often during the day and night.
Overflow Incontinence
In Overflow Incontinence, the bladder fills past capacity causing the involuntary loss of urine. Other symptoms may include incomplete bladder emptying or retention, and a slow or weak urinary stream. This may be due to a blockage or weakened bladder muscles.

Reconstructive Urology
Patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse, a neurological disorder or experience narrowing of the urinary tract may need to undergo reconstructive urologic surgery to help restore proper function. Reconstructive urologic surgery is also beneficial for patients who suffered a traumatic injury, causing damage to their genitourinary system.
Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)
This activity related incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine when physical activities act on the bladder. These physical activities can include coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, standing up or bending down. The amount of urine lost can vary from a few drops to enough urine to soak through layers of clothing.

Urinary Stone Disease
Deposits of minerals in the kidneys can become concentrated and solidify into stones that can block the urinary tract and cause major pain. Once a person experiences kidney stones, their likelihood for developing them in the future increases. Most smaller kidney stones can be passed without any medical intervention but larger stones may need to be removed through a minimally-invasive procedure.
UroLift
The UroLift System uses a revolutionary approach to treating BPH that lifts and holds the enlarged prostate tissue so it no longer blocks the urethra. It is the only BPH treatment performed by a urologist that does not require heating, cutting or removal of the prostate tissue. The procedure is typically performed using local anesthesia in a physician’s office or ambulatory surgery center. Patients typically return home the same day without a catheter. As a UroLift Center of Excellence, DHR Health is proud to offer this service to the community.
