Adrenal Disorders

Adrenal disorders are the result of the adrenal glands producing excessive or inadequate amounts of hormones that are essential to the body’s normal processes. If left untreated, these disorders can cause health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring System

This monitoring system tracks the body's glucose levels throughout the day and night, helping people with diabetes better manage their health. This potentially life-saving system continually checks blood sugar and sends an alert before the user begin experiencing low or high blood sugar levels.

Diabetes Education

We provide diabetes education for people with pre-diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes. Classes are provided by expertly trained, nationally certified educators. Diabetes education classes provide you with the knowledge and tools to manage your condition.

Diabetes Medical Nutrition Therapy

Proper nutrition is a major tool for controlling your diabetes. We provide medical nutrition therapy that is important in preventing diabetes, managing existing diabetes and preventing or slowing the development of diabetes-related complications. A registered dietitian will work one-on-one with you review your current diet, establish nutrition goals and develop a meal plan tailored to your needs.

image-item

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes develops during pregnancy, often without noticeable signs or symptoms. Our expert team of endocrinologists and diabetes educators can provide you with the tools necessary to control your diabetes. Good nutrition, exercise, and, if necessary, medication can help control your blood sugar to keep you and your baby healthy.

Growth Disorders

Growth disorders affect the development of a child's height, weight, or sexual maturity. Growing very fast or very slow may signal a problem with the pituitary gland, thyroid, or another underlying health condition. Some growth disorders are genetic, while others may be caused by hormonal problems or poor absorption of food.

Insulin Pump Education

We offer education for individuals that have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and require the use of an insulin pump. We will help you learn self-management techniques such as how to wear the pump, temporary removal guidelines, and the mechanics of your particular pump. We will also teach you how to care for the infusion site and how to prevent and fix pump problems.

image-item

Parathyroid Disorders

The parathyroid is made up of four pea-sized glands in the neck. It controls hormones that play an important role in keeping the balance between calcium and phosphorous in the body. An imbalance in these hormones, called hypoparathyroidism (too little) or hyperparathyroidism (too much), can cause problems with bones, muscles, skin, and nerves. While there is no approved hormone replacement therapy for hypoparathyroidism, the goal of treatment is to restore calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous levels to normal. Hyperparathyroidism can be treated with medication or surgery.

Pediatric & Adolescent Endocrinology

We are committed to providing a smooth transition of care from adolescence into adulthood. For young adults with diabetes and endocrine disorders, the transition from a pediatric to a new adult doctor can be an obstacle. We provide a variety of resources, services and support that you and your family need to make this transition as seamless as possible.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that affects women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS may develop numerous ovarian follicles and fail to regularly release eggs, which causes hormonal imbalances and metabolic problems, leading to symptoms such as infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods, excess male hormone levels, and infertility. The cause and cure for PCOS is unknown, but your doctor can help you manage the symptoms and related health concerns.

Pubertal Disorders

Puberty is the physical process a child's body goes through as it matures into an adult body. During puberty, the body grows faster than any other time during a person's life, except for infancy. It is also during this process that the body becomes capable of sexual reproduction. While children develop at different rates, most will go through puberty between the ages of 8 and 13. A pubertal disorder is when this process doesn't occur as it normally should. There are several forms of pubertal disorders, including delayed puberty, precocious puberty, and contrasexual pubertal development. The best course of treatment is based on the underlying cause of the pubertal disorder.

Thyroid Disorders

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck in front of the windpipe. It is one of the largest endocrine organs in the body, and produces hormones that regulate growth and metabolism. Diseases of the thyroid gland include irregularities in the production of thyroid hormone, defects in the anatomy or structure of the thyroid, and thyroid cancer. Thyroid disorders can affect your weight, energy levels, muscle strength, skin, memory, cholesterol and heart rate.

Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration

An ultrasound-guided thyroid fine need aspiration is a procedure used to take a sample from the nodule, which allows your physician to determine if the nodule is benign or malignant. Needle aspiration biopsy is less invasive than surgical biopsy, leaving little to no scaring. The majority of thyroid nodules are benign.

image-item

Thyroid Ultrasound

A thyroid ultrasound is an imaging test that produces pictures of the thyroid gland, which are used to evaluate lumps or nodules found during a physical or other imaging exam.
