Biography
Dr. Fiorella Llanos joins DHR Health Heart Institute as the first female cardiologist.
Dr. Llanos is board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, and Echocardiography. Also, she is board eligible for Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
Although she specializes in treating and improving the quality of life of those patients with peripheral artery disease and coronary artery disease, Dr. Llanos is also trained to diagnose and treat a wide array of diseases of the heart and vascular system, including patients who suffer from high blood pressure, heart failure, abnormal heart rhythm, and post COVID-19 cardiac complications.
Dr. Llanos earned her medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, where she graduated in the top 5 of her class. Then, she entered her internal medicine residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she was awarded “Outstanding Resident of the year” two years in a row. She then attended Yale University School of Medicine where she completed a General Cardiology fellowship before finding her passion in the field and pursuing a Peripheral Vascular fellowship, followed by an Interventional Cardiology fellowship. During her training, Dr. Llanos has authored and co-authored over a dozen research papers and presented over 30 projects and cases in several national meeting.
Ultimately, Dr. Llanos’s goal is to make a meaningful impact on her patients by utilizing her extensive experience, education, compassion, and specialized skillset. She aims to continue improving the high-quality care offered at DHR Health.
