Biography

DHR Health welcomes RGV native Edith Martinez, Au.D., CCC-A, who joins as an Audiologist at the DHR Health Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in May 2023 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

In her role as an audiologist, Dr. Martinez will collaborate with ENT physicians, also known as otolaryngologists, to provide comprehensive care for patients with hearing and balance disorders. Her responsibilities include conducting comprehensive audiological evaluations, assessing balance, evaluating and managing tinnitus, and participating in surgical implant planning and evaluation. She also performs newborn hearing screenings and cochlear implant evaluations, including activation, and follow-up programming for teenagers through adults
