The Pharmacy Department at DHR Health is committed to providing pharmacy residents the highest quality of training with experienced preceptors in a variety of patient care settings. Pharmacy residents will gain the knowledge and skills required to become a successful clinical pharmacist that can provide excellent patient care. The DHR Health Pharmacy Residency Programs are focused on training highly motivated pharmacists by developing clinical skills, teaching, research, communication, and leadership.DHR Health is proud to offer two PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Programs:

PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Track A - General

DHR Health in cooperation with Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy offers a 12 month post graduate curriculum that provides training opportunities in acute care, ambulatory care, drug information, drug use policy development, clinical services, leadership, research, and teaching. The residency is designed to offer an individualized training plan for each resident based on their interests, goals and past experiences. Residents will be required to complete core rotations in order to build a strong knowledge base and have the opportunity to select elective rotations in different fields of interest.

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Track B - Ambulatory

DHR Health in conjunction with the faculty associated with the University Houston College of Pharmacy, is offering a Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy residency program with an ambulatory care track designed to advance the practice of post graduate pharmacists. The PGY 1 pharmacy residency is a twelve-month program designed to expose residents to a comprehensive clinical environment in which they will develop knowledge and skills in direct patient care in both ambulatory and acute care settings, teaching and research.
