Philip Thomas, MD

Biography

Dr. Philip Thomas specializes in multi-organ transplant surgery including kidney, liver and pancreas. The expertise of Dr. Thomas contributes to our mission of bringing new life to the Rio Grande Valley through transplant services.

Dr. Thomas received his medical degree from the Armed Forced Medical College in Pune, India. He completed medical training in general surgery at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India. He completed a clinical fellowship in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation from 1993 to 1995, and a third year fellowship in intestine and multivisceral transplant from 2002 to 2003 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
