DHR Health COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

DHR Health Mandates COVID-19 Vaccine for All Employees, Medical Staff, and all Other Persons Working, Studying, or Teaching at or on DHR Health Premises

The health and safety of our patients, employees and community is our top priority. The vaccine remains the best line of defense against severe illness due to COVID-19. DHR Health has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement of all employees, unless they have an approved exemption. We understand there may be employees who cannot get vaccinated because of medical issues or religious beliefs, and DHR Health has policies in place to address these situations on an individual basis. In addition all persons, medical staff, students, residents, faculty, contractors and vendors included, that work, study or teach at or on DHR Health premises are required to be vaccinated

Given the current status of the pandemic, DHR Health believes the vaccines are the most effective way to protect patients and staff, and promote a healthier community. We join dozens of well-respected health systems across the state in implementing this mandate.

Supporting Our Health Care Heroes

Employee Screening

In an effort to keep all of our patients and employees safe and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, DHR Health is screenings all employees before they report to work. All employees will have their temperature checked for signs of fever and will be asked the following questions:

  • Do you have a new onset of cough or shortness of breath?
  • Have you traveled recently out of the area?
  • Have you or any of your family members been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19?

Healthcare Heroes

Our staff is hard at work keeping our community safe and continuing to provide quality health care to the Rio Grande Valley. You can protect our healthcare heroes by continuing to follow city and state ordinances to help slow the spread of COVID-19. By staying home and practicing social distancing, you are keeping the Rio Grande Valley safe. With your help, we can all be healthcare heroes.

Community Support

DHR Health would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our local businesses and community members that continue to support our staff during this time. We are grateful for the many generous food and PPE donations that we have received.
